Frequently Asked Questions
-
Your body, mind, and daily life are deeply connected. Tension in your tissues changes how your joints move. The way you move shapes how you breathe and hold yourself. Your nervous system is always reading all of it, along with stress and past experiences, to decide how safe you are and how much pain to signal. When one part is out of balance, the others adapt around it. Holistic orthopedic occupational therapy works with the whole system at once, weaving together hands-on care, movement, breathwork, and somatic approaches so each change supports the next. As an occupational therapist, I carry that integration into your life, into the work, family, training, and activities that make you feel like yourself.

Strata Integrative offers individualized, whole-person care that brings together hands-on treatment, movement retraining, and practical strategies for everyday function. Care is shaped by your body, your experiences, and your goals, with an emphasis on understanding how different systems and patterns work together to support meaningful, lasting change.
-
Care may support people navigating orthopedic and neurological conditions, persistent or complex pain, joint hypermobility, post-surgical recovery, and changes in movement or function. Treatment is also mindful of the broader healthcare experience, including medical trauma, previous injuries or procedures, and experiences that may affect comfort, trust, or participation in care. A trauma-informed approach emphasizes communication, consent, choice, and working at a pace that feels appropriate for you.
-
Your first visit begins with a conversation about what you’re experiencing and what matters most to you. Assessment and treatment often happen together as I explore movement, hands-on techniques, and your response to begin shaping care around your needs and goals.

No. Each session is shaped by your needs, comfort, movement, and response. Treatment evolves as I learn more about your body and what helps you function at your best.
-
Not necessarily. Hands-on treatment may be part of your care when appropriate, but it is never assumed. Treatment is guided by your needs, goals, comfort, and consent, and may also include movement, education, and strategies to support function outside of the clinic.
-
Start with a free consultation. I can talk with you about what you’re experiencing, what you’re looking for from care, and whether Strata Integrative may be a good fit. Consultations do not include hands-on treatment.
